“I am a father and I hope a good neighbor. I am also a veteran and a lawyer. I live aboard a sailboat and I am building a civic education ecosystem for our posterity.”Christopher J. Bradley
Common Sense Quarterly is not a faceless company. It is me, working in the open, building something I believe our towns need. So it seems right that you should know who is behind it.
I enlisted in the Army at seventeen and drove a tank in the Gulf War. Afterward I went to law school, earned a law degree and a master's in intellectual property, and practiced for fourteen years. I am still a lawyer, though I keep my license inactive now and I will tell you that story plainly if you ask. Today I live aboard a small sailboat on the Florida coast, I write children's books, and I wrote a book on citizenship called Zen and the Art of Citizenship.
But I am a Pennsylvania boy at heart. I spend a good part of the year back home, in the house I grew up in, close to my mother and the friends I have known my whole life. I come and go with the seasons, a stretch of the summer and home again around Christmas. Pennsylvania is where I learned what a community is, and it is why I wanted Common Sense Quarterly to start close to home.
All of it points the same direction: I want the principles that make self-government possible to be taught clearly, to more people, without distortion. That is the whole reason Common Sense Quarterly exists.
Why I built this
A single small business that wants to reach every home in town by mail is looking at about $2,750 for one run. Most owners see that number once and give up. Meanwhile our neighbors get less and less real civic information.
Common Sense Quarterly solves both at once. Twenty local businesses share one 9x12 postcard, so a category-exclusive spot costs $549 instead of thousands, and the other side of the card teaches a founding principle, written by a lawyer, non-partisan, for every household. One card. Every door. Businesses reach their neighbors, and the whole community learns something worth knowing.
Let's talk. No sales pitch.
Whether you want a spot on your town's postcard, want to bring Common Sense Quarterly to your town, or just want to understand how it works, book fifteen minutes with me. You will be talking to the person who builds it, not a salesperson.
